About 9090

What to know. 9090 was born in Tokyo and established itself within a few seasons as the entry point to contemporary Japanese streetwear. The label keeps a store in Jingūmae, in the Shibuya district, and is part of the Yutori group. Its vocabulary: American retro rewritten by Tokyo — heavy denim, worked washes, wide volumes, bullet logo. It is a brand of cut before it is a brand of logo.

Pieces to know. The balloon pants and baggy jeans that made the label's name. The nylon cargo and track pants. The graphic tees and long sleeves, often collaborations. And the crossover pieces with Younger Song, the other Tokyo label from the same scene.

What we check. On 9090, it comes down to the inner label, the quality of the wash and the regularity of the topstitching on denim pieces. Every item passes through our hands before going online, and we systematically photograph the label details. See our full authentication process.

Japanese sizing runs small: a Japanese M usually matches a European S. Flat measurements are listed on every product page.
