About BAPE

What to know. A Bathing Ape invented a grammar the whole of streetwear has copied since: the signature camo, the repeated logo, the limited drop. Thirty years on, the two-thousands pieces — the Nigo era — have become collector's objects in their own right, often more sought after than current production.

Pieces to know. The Shark Hoodie, the iconic piece, whose value varies sharply by colour and year. Baby Milo, the most accessible line. The College and Big Head tees. The camo pieces, from shorts to jackets. And the collaborations, notably Kaws and Saint Michael.

What we check. BAPE is the most counterfeited brand in our catalogue, and the one we are strictest on. We check the alignment of the camo across the seams, the embroidery of the shark's teeth, the inner label and the quality of the zip. A fake almost always gives itself away on the regularity of the pattern. See our full authentication process.

Japanese fit, runs small. Flat measurements on every product page.
